In the 1950s, a group of writers started a literary movement in the face of uncertainty about the state of America after World War II. Writers gather in New York and San Francisco cafes, sip black coffee, recite poetry, and publish voluminous works. Advocating anti-materialism and faithfully describing the status quo of the crowd, trying to explore and influence contemporary American culture and politics. This literary movement is called the Beat Generation, and the cafes that nourished the cradle of literature have also become synonymous with creativity and intellectuals.

Among the cafes of this time, the oldest continuously operating coffee shop in the United States - Caffè Lena in Saratoga, New York - is the most representative. Its history gave birth to the Beatniks and countless creative icons of the folk revival, making it a solid cornerstone of America's creative counterculture.

VOL.200 is Blackwing's limited edition pen that pays tribute to nurture creative culture cafes. The classic copper coffee roasting machine used in many cafes in the 1950s and 1960s transforms into a bright and dazzling metal copper pen body. The firm but slightly soft B-graphite is suitable for painting and writing; the number 200 represents the catalytic roasting temperature at which coffee berry seeds transform into coffee beans.

Walk into the familiar coffee shop, smell the aroma of your favorite coffee in the corner of the store, and write down endless inspiration and thoughts with Blackwing VOL.200.
